VMware VCF 5.0 Released
VMware has released VCF 5.0.
I have been waiting for this for some times as we have customers waiting for this release.
This release is build on the latest release of vSphere 8.0 Update 1a, vSAN 8.0 Update 1, NSX 4.1 and vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.10 Patch 1.
NOTE: It do not support the new vSAN Express Storage Architecture, with this release.
NOTE: Have not see the VCF 5.0 for Dell VxRail, we will have to wait for this.
I was hoping that it would have been Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 instead of “old” 8.10 version. But the Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 is supported as an upgrade in VCF 4.5.0, so I hope the KB with supported upgrade for that will be updated to show this for the VCF 5.0 soon.
I was a bit worried about if this would feature a upgrade path from VCF 4.x, as when VCF 4.0 was released it did not support upgrade from version 3.x, but i do support upgrade from VCF 4.3.x, 4.4.x and 4.5.x. REMEMBER: You still need to check if you hardware supports vSphere 8.1 before upgrading the ESXi hosts.
